Idaho, Spring Has Been Cancelled

I really haven’t paid much attention to the “Royal Wedding” that took place at Buckingham Palace this morning, but I do wish the newly married couple a happy life together. I thought to myself this morning, when I woke up to snow, “Guards at the wedding have to be happy they don’t live in my town!” Waking up to an inch of snow in late April is not an unheard of occurrence around these parts, but it really can be quite disheartening when you are so ready for the warmth of Spring to come around. I'm thinking that the warm weather of California is asking me to come back. Hope all is happy and warm wherever you are spending your Spring.

A Little Snow Guard History

Roof Things History
Check out this bill of sale for Snow Guards for Dr. M. Halliday that was issued on February 25th 1897. Snow guards have been around A LONG time. It's been exactly 114 years and 1 month since Halliday billed for his invention of the snow guards. I love how the address of this company points out the obvious , "between 2d and 3d Aves". A few years after the snow guards was invented, Charles G. Halliday, M. Hallidays son, bought out his fathers roofing business and continued pratice as a Slate and Metal roofer. He also continued to manufacture the snow guards for slate and slanting roofs.

Mini Snow Guard Articles
We are happy to announce that we now carry the mini snow guard by Sno Shield called the SS Mini. Mini snow guards are a great alternative to full size snow guards in areas where you don't receive a lot of snow, or to use in tight spots where the larger ones just won't fit.
