Snow guards have been around for over 100 years. Their purpose is to help prevent sliding snow from falling off of metal roofs and causing damage below. At Roof Things, we offer multiple types of snow guards: clamp on snow guards that attach to the standing seam of a metal roof, pad style that are valley based snow guards which attach using set screws or Surebond SB-190 adhesive, bar snow guards which are more often referred to as snow rails, and slate snow guards which can be used on slate roofs and cedar shake roofs.
Snow guards have been referred to by several names over the years including, snow cleats, snow stoppers, snow brakes, snow brackets, and snow catchers, but no matter what you call them they are all designed with the purpose of keeping snow up on your roof and out of your way.
If you need help deciding which snow guards are best for your roof, please use our snow guard buying guide.
The snow guards we offer are made from polycarbonate or metal materials. Some of the polycarbonate plastic snow guards can be injected with color to match the color of any metal roof. We also sell snow guard covers that are made from the exact same material as your metal roof. These covers look great and blend in well with your roof.
